Liberal? Gun-owner?

American Handgunner, Sept-Oct, 2004 by Michael Woodard

Reference Michael Cornwall's letter (Handgunner, Mar/Apr 2004) wherein he expresses anger about being put down for being liberal: I've got a few points. It Mr. Cornwall chooses to cast his lot with our political enemies, he should not be surprised to find himself under siege from those of us who have fought so hard to keep our rights from being eviscerated. It's no secret liberal ideology is rabidly anti-gun and, if he sides with them, that's the standard by which he'll be judged.

He proclaims himself a gun owner. I have no idea how he reconciles these two diametrically opposed stances. If he votes a liberal ticket, he's helping to put those in power who would take away our guns--not to mention his too. As a veteran of both law enforcement service (23 years) and the Air Force (5 years), I have likewise earned the "right" not to be lectured to by someone who is part of the problem and not the solution. However, unlike Cornwall, I'm simply not getting all bent out of shape about it.
