Colt files lawsuit … again

American Handgunner, Sept-Oct, 2004 by Roy Huntington

After starting a battle with some makers of copy-cat 1873 Single Action Army designs--still in the works at last look--Colt is now taking on Heckler & Koch and Bushmaster for "... acts of trademark infringement, trade dress infringement, trademark dilution, false designation of origin, false advertising, patent infringement, unfair competition and deceptive trade practices" having to do with their M4[R] carbine and parts for the AR family of guns.

According to a press release from Colt, the other companies are making "M4" look-alike rifles and selling them, and Colt says that's unfair. It makes us wonder when the 1911-series lawsuit is going to happen. We're not attorneys here so we can't even begin to try to figure out what all this means, but thought you'd like to know.
