Can a porcupine save your guns?

American Handgunner, Jan-Feb, 2005 by Evan F. Nappen

Consider the following. In 1990, Democrat James Florio, the most unpopular Governor in New Jersey's history, pushed severe tax increases (even taxing toilet paper!) and jammed the worst gun ban ever proposed in New Jersey's history (the so-called Assault Firearm Ban) down honest gun owners throats. At the height of this political fight, the number of NRA members in the State was only about 90,000 out of 2 million known gun permit holders. Shockingly, only roughly 1/3 of the 90,000 NRA members were even registered to vote! That's inexcusable apathy.

The Squeaky Wheel

As always, the ones who complained the loudest at our defeat when the gun ban passed by one vote were the same ones who had done the least to stop it. Due to the subsequent political hatred of this governor, Republicans swept the next election. Next, we had eight years of total Republican control of all branches of New Jersey Government. Big deal! We could not even muster a reform of the "Assault Firearm Ban" to save the 300,000 honest gun owners turned into felons with the stroke of the previous governor's pen. Since then, even worse gun laws have been passed in New Jersey which bring gun confiscation and ultimately ending gun ownership in the State. This trend is growing. In many other States, neither the Democrats or the Republicans can be counted on to vigorously defend gun rights.

Some 20,000 activists concentrated in a low population state (under 1.5 million) can kick ass for gun rights. Gun owner activists are the opposite of gun owner apathetics. Activists are folks who will walk the walk (to New Hampshire) for freedom and not just talk the talk about how our rights are disappearing and yell, "Where is the NRA?" The Free State Project is the hottest, strongest, most effective political strategy to come along in years. You can either stand idly by while your freedoms evaporate, or you can be part of a revolutionary political strategy to concentrate our power for the protection and advancement of all our rights. You will immediately improve your own personal freedom and quality of life by coming to "The Free State" of New Hampshire. Do not miss this opportunity to make political history in the fight for freedom. Do it for America. Do it for your love of guns. Do it for your kids. Do it for yourself. Join The Free State Project.
