The dark side

American Handgunner, July-August, 2008 by Gary

For years I've been firmly in the auto camp, barely tolerating pictures of wheel guns on your pages and lamenting them taking up space at my favorite local gun shop. Oh, what a happy life I was enjoying. Then, one dark and stormy day the mailman leaves the latest issue of Handgunner. What's this--a .45 ACP revolver with coolness written all over it? So with trepidation I crack open to the article and begin to read. Clint's behind all this tom-foolery? Shake it off, shake it off, I say to myself. I'm okay now ... interesting article, great pics, cool gun, now move on. Oh look, autos abound elsewhere. Then the very next day I drop by my favorite gun shop and what's sitting there? Yup, a S&W Thunder Ranch Model 325, used, but as-new, with a light thrown in to sweeten the deal. By now I suppose you can guess I bought the darn thing, but if my wife finds out I'm going to tell her I was brain washed by your article and couldn't help myself. Keep up the good work. You guys have the best gun mag in the business.
