Great girlfriend

American Handgunner, Nov-Dec, 2008 by F. Valiquette

First, I would like to say that I have enjoyed your magazine over the years, and have come across a good chunk of information reading it. I have never written to the magazine before, but I have to say it has crossed my mind several times. The reason I am contacting you now is I am in a desperate search for a missing part on an Erma KGP-68A in .380. The gun is missing its extractor. This gun has come into my girlfriend's collection, and she dearly loves it. I cannot figure out why, but that's the way it is.

This past Christmas she gave me a gift that can only be described as "Once in a lifetime." At least that was the way she described it prior to my opening the package. By God she was fight because inside the package was an apparently new, in the box Colt Diamondback revolver. Suffice it to say it was manufactured back in the good old days, and apparently never fired, or so the story goes. The revolver is pristine and the sentiment hugely impacting for me.

I thought if I could locate the part and get her new toy up and running it might start me in the direction of paying her back for the wonderful gift she gave me. Thank you for any and all assistance you can give. Keep up the good work.

First off, keep that girl! On the parts situation, I'd try www.gunpartscorp.com and/or www.jackfirstgun.com. Gun Parts has an extensive online catalog and I'll bet you find it there. But if not, you'll have to phone Jack First's shop as their catalog is not on-line but they can help you on the phone. If you don't know how to install that part yourself, make sure to get some qualified help as these parts may take some minor fitting. Wanna' sell that Colt? Editor
