Perfect packing' pooch

American Handgunner, Nov-Dec, 2008 by Roy Huntington

It seems Duke, who lives in Alaska, has taken to packing a custom Ruger .44 Magnum Super Blackhawk due to the need to defend himself against miscreant K-9s, and to take the odd caribou or Sitka deer to supplement his diet of dry dog food. Duke said his favorite load is either Black Hill's Hornady 240 gr. XTP or Cor-Bon or Federal loads with the Barnes' 225 Gr. all-copper HP. Duke laughed when he told a story about the surprised look on a wolf's face when he launched a .44 at him to discourage the wolf's idea that Duke might make a good dinner. Guess not, Mr. Wolf. Duke's idea of packing a sixgun may catch on with the police K-9 group. It brings a whole new meaning to the concept of a police dog, and frankly, we wouldn't mind it.
