Internet Strategies for Education Markets: The Heller Report, June, 2001
NCES figures from Internet Access in U.S. Public Schools and Classrooms: 1994-2000 show 98% of public schools connected with 77% of instructional rooms connected to the Internet. The ratio of students to instructional computers with Internet access was 7 to 1. Internet PCs are available outside of school hours in 77% of schools.
Nearly three quarters of schools use blocking or filtering software. Of the schools connected to the Internet, 77% used dedicated lines in 2000.
