Internet Strategies for Education Markets: The Heller Report, Sept, 2002
The WorldCom bankruptcy may be coming home to educators. The company is moving to pull the plug on the popular $20 million Marco Polo online teaching tool and training program. WorldCom's philanthropic arm is now appealing to private funders and the public for support. Marco Polo was introduced five years ago. It links a searchable database to educational groups' web sites, and gives teachers free access to panel-reviewed, standards-based lesson plans and student activities.
