Department of Public Instruction has named more than one-third of Milwaukee Public Schools
Internet Strategies for Education Markets: The Heller Report, Sept, 2002
The Wisconsin state Department of Public Instruction has named more than one-third of Milwaukee Public Schools to its list of "failing schools". There are 160 schools in the Milwaukee Public Schools system. Three-quarters of all failing schools listed by the state are part of the Milwaukee school system, plus a charter school operated by the Milwaukee Common Council. Nine out of fifteen of Milwaukee's largest high schools and more than a dozen large middle schools have made the dubious list.
