This month in Los Angeles, The Heller Reports awards the prestigious EdNET Awards for excellence in educational technology at the EdNET 2002 Conference. Congratulations to the finalists.

EdNET HERO Awards go to organizations having made the most significant positive impact on education through educational technology and telecommunications. For-profit finalists: FableVision, Lightspan and Riverdeep. Nonprofit finalists: Challenger Center for Space Science Education, CoSN - Consortium for School Networking, and NASA's Center for Distance Learning.

EdNET Pioneer Award recognizes those organizations contributing most significantly to the growth of the markets for educational technology and telecommunications during the previous year. For-profit finalists: Apex Learning; Learning Station and McGraw Hill Learning Network. Nonprofit finalists: Bay Area Video Coalition, Houston Independent School District, and NetDay.

EdNET Rookie of the Year Awards honor a small or start-up organization that seems to have the greatest promise to become a significant player in education technology in coming years. The 2002 finalists are: Privo, Soliloquy Learning and Wireless Generation.
