Internet Strategies for Education Markets: The Heller Report, Nov, 1999

Computer Curriculum Corp. (CCC, Sunnyvale, CA) has moved content from their SuccessMaker program to their web-based CCCnet. The new availability of Reading Adventures Online and Writer's Studio Online moves the company closer to plans for providing Internet-delivered curriculum. The writing program, says Marie Amoruso Jackson, senior vp of marketing, works particularly well in the online environment given the research needs of the writing projects.

The company remains focused on driving traffic to their web offerings and researching revenue models. CCCnet is currently available for free. CCC is also working to round out their offerings for their "Anytime, Anywhere, Any Age, Any Learner" goal. A recent agreement to distribute Stanford University's advanced placement courses, (Education Program for Gifted Youth, EPGY), serves the high school market. Work with sister companies owned by Pearson Education will offer adult education. Amoruso Jackson says the company remains open to considering new partnerships.
