IBM and Simplexis have struck an agreement to jointly market and sell the Simplexis hosted procurement software, custom integration and other services. IBM has named Simplexis as its preferred provider of hosted procurement software for school districts, and Simplexis has named IBM as its preferred provider of implementation and integration services.

IBM will spotlight the Simplexis procurement solution as part of its integrated total solution package. In other news, Simplexis has acquired the National Internet School Bid Information Center, Inc. and has integrated NISBIC's total sealed bid technology into their Simplebuy eProcurement solution. NISBIC has created a system for uploading existing school contracts, preparing bidding criteria, issuing requests for sealed bids, receiving sealed bids, tabulating results and documenting with an audit frail.
