Versatile surgery table - Product Marketplace - ASC 2000 Ambulatory Surgical Care Table from STERIS Corp - Brief Article

Ear, Nose & Throat Journal, Nov, 2003

STERIS Corporation introduces its ASC 2000[TM] Ambulatory Surgical Care Table, providing a flexible solution for the medical and budgetary requirements of newer surgical environments. This table offers the posturing, powered-control, and imaging features preferred in the ambulatory surgery setting. The table and its accessories can be configured for basic general surgery, plastic surgery, endoscopic surgery, and other surgical procedures.

The comfort and safety of patients are key factors in the design of the ASC 2000 Ambulatory Surgical Care Table. Its posturing capabilities and accessories allow optimal positioning, and the six-section tabletop is specifically designed for ambulatory procedures. The two-inch (51-mm) table pad is conductive, pliable, latex-free, and antibiotic, and is designed to reduce pressure on patients' contact points.

The table can support patients as heavy as 400 lbs, and its self-compensating floor locks adjust automatically on uneven floors to prevent rocking or tipping. Its actuation is smooth and quiet, so as not to disturb minimally sedated patients, If power is lost during a procedure, an emergency back-up control ensures safe operation and repositioning.

The ASC 2000 Ambulatory Surgical Care Table is lightweight and maneuverable, and its remote pendant hand control is easy to use. It also provides several features that enhance imaging capabilities. Its radiolucent tabletop and unique offset column allow C-arm coverage of more than 85% of the table for total body imaging. In addition, the tabletop design accommodates 11" x 14" and 14" x 17" film cassettes at the head, foot, and both sides, for a full range of exposure angles.
