Medical practices need employee manuals for several reasons (figure). An employee manual will:
* permit all employees to understand expected conduct, benefits, and services from the date of hiring.
* serve as a "road map" to resolve employee employer grievances.
* provide all employees with an understanding of the mission of the practice and solidify a team approach.
