Partial tympanoplasty prosthesis

Ear, Nose & Throat Journal, March, 2004

Kurz Medical, Inc., offers the CliP[R] Partial Prosthesis for ossicular bone reconstruction. Meeting the demands for an even safer standardized connection between the stapes head and the implant was the design objective for this lightweight, self-retaining, uniquely shaped titanium prosthesis. This implant has been developed through close cooperation between Kurz Medical and the Dresden University Hospital ENT department.

The method of coupling the CliP Partial Prosthesis on the stapes is revolutionary: A titanium, seven-pronged clip is simply "clicked" onto the stapes head. Because of its built-in resilience, it provides excellent sound transmission and a solid implant fit. The risk of postoperative implant dislocation with resulting hearing impairment is reduced with this new ossicular-coupling technique.
