IBM Specialist Syan Looks to IPO

Computergram International, April 13, 1999

Syan Ltd, a UK-based IBM midrange outsourcing firm, is planning an IPO after 12 months when both revenue and net income rocketed. After the most successful year in the company's history, pre-tax profit rose 228% to 2.5m pounds ($4.5m) on revenue that was 161% higher at 17.5m pounds ($28.3m).

Chairman Jeff Trendell attributes the strong results to the growing number of companies outsourcing their IT functions.
