Centura Sets Up Tokyo Office to Target

Centura Software Corp has set-up a wholly owned subsidiary in Japan, as a key step in its strategy to reposition itself as the database supplier to the "fifth wave" of digital internet appliance manufacturers. Centura Embedded Systems KK gives Centura a Tokyo-base from which to target the likes of Casio, NEC, Sharp and Sony, who are just some of the consumer electronics majors the Redwood Shores, California company is betting will have a major influence on the future of handheld computing.
