Mactell Acquires Dgr To Expand Usb Distribution

Computergram International, Feb 3, 1999

Mactell Corp, the Austin, Texas-based processor upgrade and video accelerator company, has acquired DGR Technologies Inc, a computer distributor specializing in internet sales. DGR, also from Austin, runs the BottomLine Distribution and MacProducts USA distribution arms. Mactell says the success of its recently launched iMaccessories division, which manufactures USB peripherals designed for Apple Computer Inc's iMac, prompted the acquisition.

It said it needed a broader e-commerce and distribution setup to deal with the "overwhelming demand." The products can also be sold to PCs supporting the USB bus.
