Taiwan Made 50% More Computers Last Year

The total value of Taiwan-made personal computers was $14.8bn last year, representing an annual growth rate of 23%, down from an average growth of 37% over the previous five years, the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics reported last week. However production volume in 1998 was 20.42m units, a growth of 50%, figures well above the five-year average of 41.1%.
