Memory Chooses Tegic for MP3 Player

Computergram International, Oct 12, 1999

Memory Corp, the Edinburgh, Scotland memory products designer, has licensed Tegic Communications Inc's T9 text input software for its MP3-GO portable music player, which is due to hit the shops in the US and Europe before Christmas.

Seattle, Washington-based Tegic's software has been extensively used by mobile phone manufacturers to enable customers to send messages on a limited keypad. Memory, which is paying Tegic a small up-front payment plus royalties, says it will make music selection easy by providing users with simple text entry formats to input artists' names and song titles.
