Brio Debuts Sqribe Portal Technology

Brio Technology Inc's release of Brio.Portal 6.0 represents the market debut of the first fruits of the Palo Alto, California-based company's acquisition of Sqribe Technologies Inc. Indeed, the Brio portal is essentially Sqribe's ReportMart 2 product re-Christened and enhanced. The improvements include provision of LDAP (lightweight directory access protocol), an alert management and formatting tool called Event Server, and an Active Objects interface which allows users to embed Java applets.

Ongoing plans for Brio.Portal include extending to data access to enterprise resource planning suites, which is currently restricted to PeopelSoft and SAP products.
