Microsoft Set To Acquire Linkexchange For $250m

Late on Wednesday, it was revealed that Microsoft Corp plans to acquire LinkExchange Inc, a privately held company that sells banner advertising on the internet, the Wall Street Journal reports. The report claims that Microsoft will pay $250m in stock for the San Francisco-based company which places advertising banners on an estimated 400,000 web sites, including a significant proportion of obscure personal home pages.

LinkExchange is reputedly to be incorporated into the Microsoft Network group.
