The Learning Co Inc, Cambridge, Massachusetts-based provider of educational and entertainment software, has reported a third- quarter net loss of $21.2m on revenue up 50.1% at $212.7m, down from a loss of $113.2m in the year-ago period. Nine-month net loss was $200m on revenue 40.5% at $564m, down from a loss of $327.9m last year.

Results include pre-tax amortization and merger-related charges of $63.7m and $282.9m for the quarter and nine months, respectively. Results for the year-ago period include similar charges of $148.4m and $403.1m.
