Taiwan Makes Most Notebooks

Taiwan accounted for 47% of worldwide output of notebook computers in the first three months of this year, grabbing the top spot for the second straight quarter, according to Nikkei Business Publications Inc. Japan came second, with 39%. Compaq, Dell and others now outsource manufacture to Taiwanese companies.
