Boeing and Sabre Join XML Standards Group Oasis

Computergram International, June 7, 1999

The Boeing Co and electronic travel bookings firm Sabre Group Holdings Inc have both joined XML consortium Oasis, the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards, as sponsor members, paying $7,500 each. Oasis also confirmed the news that Microsoft Corp has joined as a sponsor member.

Microsoft hasn't apparently joined XML.org, the organization's portal site and open repository and registry for XML schemas, which costs $100,000 and includes sponsor membership. Microsoft has its own portal site, BizTalk.org, which appears to have similar aims. Oasis now has 78 members, more vendors than users.
