EDS Files for GM Share Sale

Computergram International, August 10, 1999

Systems integration and consulting giant Electronic Data Systems Corp has notified the Securities and Exchange Commission of plans for its largest shareholder to sell up to 36.7 million common shares. EDS filed a shelf registration statement allowing the General Motors Special Hourly Employees Pension Trust to exercise its twice-yearly option to sell stock under an agreement struck when the car manufacturer spun off EDS in 1996.

The GM pension trust owns 20% of EDS stock.
