Legend and TI Set Up DSP Research Lab

Computergram International, August 10, 1999

China's top PC maker Legend Group and Texas Instruments Corp have jointly established a digital signal processing (DSP) laboratory in Beijing. "We are making efforts to carve out a new profitable growth area to strengthen our competitive edge in the new century," said Liu Chuanzhi, president of Legend.

He said the Legend-TI DSP Lab will use TI's existing technology to develop network products for the Chinese market, including asymmetric digital subscriber lines (ADSL), routers, voice over IP and high-end laser printers. The first products to emerge are expected to be PC-insert cards, modems and set-top boxes based on ADSL technology, he said.
