Compaq and Microsoft in Taiwan E-Commerce Venture

> Compaq Computer Corp and Microsoft Corp are each to take a 25% stake in a new Taiwan e-commerce venture, Asia e-business. It will be the first involvement by either company in the island's internet service industry. Taiwan company Systex Corp, a supplier of electronic trading systems, will own the other half of the new company which will initially target local corporate clients in manufacturing, health care, banking and finance although it plans to expand Asia-wide.
