Ancestry.com Inc, which provides an online resource for researching family histories and hosting private family sites, has secured $33.2m in its second round of funding. The Orem, Utah-based company said the financing included investments from Group Arnault, America Online Inc, Compaq Computer Corp, Pivotal Asset Management LLC and Amerindo Investment Advisors Inc, among others.

First-round investor @Ventures, the venture capital arm of CMGI Inc, also participated in the round. Further financial details of the investments were not disclosed. The company says that in connection with the funding it has worked out business alliances with AOL and Compaq, but no details on those were given either. To date, Ancestry.com has raised $45.5m in venture financing. December 1998's first round also included contributions from Intel Corp and Wasatch Venture Fund Inc.
