NStor Technologies Inc, which suffered a bit of a finding crisis earlier this year following the acquisition of Borg Adaptive Technologies Inc back in April, says its operating subsidiary, nStor Corp, is to ditch all of its non-storage related activities and concentrate instead on its core storage business.

That means the phasing out of its memory division and its Integrated Systems Division. nStor claims its CR8e RAID subsystem is adaptable enough to support the clustering, Ultra2 and Fibre Channel market developments where the fastest growth rates are predicted. The Adaptive RAID technology acquired from Borg will help it add fault tolerance, data protection and higher performance by automatically determining the optimal RAID level required for particular tasks. Lake Mary, Florida-based nStor, which was known as Connor Storage Systems Inc before a management buyout in 1996 from Seagate Technologies Inc, lost its chief executive officer after poor first quarter results (CI No 3,417), and now has a new one: L awrence Steffann.
