At&T Named Corporate Partner To Internet2

Computergram International, May 6, 1998

AT&T has become a corporate partner with the University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development (UCAID) in the latter's Internet 2 project. Internet 2 aims to link the US research community on a robust and scalable network. More than 100 universities control UCAID but many corporations take on a consulting role.

The carrier's key contribution, worth an estimated $1m, is its Advanced Network Services software platform, a product of next- generation internet research at AT&T Labs.
