Net Access On Your Credit Card, From Discover

Computergram International, May 8, 1998

Since Yahoo! Inc started offering branded credit cards along with its web front-end in February, it was only a matter of time before credit card issuers returned the favor. Now Discover Card, a division of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co, has teamed with Earthlink Network Inc to offer net access to its card members.

With its finger firmly on the pulse of the latest web fad, Discover also hopes to turn its corporate site into a 'portal.' Subscribers to Discover Connection Internet Service will pay $19.95 for unlimited access, including 24 hour phone and online support, four email boxes, 6MB hard disk space, a net guide and a bimonthly newsletter. Card members will receive a 5 per cent Cashback Bonus award on the access fee.
