Notes: Data for 1997 through 2001 are final. All other data are
preliminary unless otherwise noted. See Explanatory Note 6 for
discussion of the reporting of underground storage information.
Gas in storage at the end of a reporting period may not equal
the quantity derived by adding or subtracting net injections or
withdrawals during the period to the quantity of gas in storage
at the beginning of the period. This is due to changes in the
quantities of native gas included in base gas and/or losses in
base gas due to migration from storage reservoirs. Totals may
not equal sum of components because of independent rounding.
Geographic coverage is the 50 States and the District of
Columbia. Positive net withdrawals indicate the volume
of withdrawals in excess of injections. Negative net
withdrawals indicate the volume of injections in
excess of the withdrawals.

Notes: This table contains total net withdrawals for each State with
natural gas storage facilities. Positive numbers indicate the volume
of withdrawals in excess of injections. Negative values indicate the
volume of injections in excess of withdrawals. Data through 2001 are
final. All other data are preliminary at this time and are not
considered final until publication of the Natural Gas Annual for
that year. The EIA publishes weekly estimates of working gas in
underground storage by geographical regions developed by the American
Gas Association (AGA) when they published similar weekly estimates.
The AGA Producing Region is Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico,
Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama and Mississippi; the Eastern Consuming
Region is all States east of the Mississippi River less Mississippi
and Alabama, plus Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri; the Western Consuming
Region is all States west of the Mississippi River less the Producing
Region and Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri.

Notes: Gas in storage at the end of a reporting period may not equal
the quantity derived by adding or subtracting net injections or
withdrawals during the period to the quantity of gas in storage
at the beginning of the period. Totals may not equal sum of
components because of independent rounding. Geographic coverage
is the 50 States and the District of Columbia. The EIA publishes
weekly estimates of working gas in underground storage by geographical
regions developed by the American Gas Association (AGA)
when they published similar weekly estimates. The AGA Producing
Region is Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Arkansas,
Alabama and Mississippi; the Eastern Consuming Region is all States
east of the Mississippi River less Mississippi and Alabama, plus
Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri; the Western Consuming Region is
all States west of the Mississippi River less the Producing
Region and Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri.
