TeleHub Network Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of TeleHub Communications Corp., signed a three-year agreement with TransNet Connect, a switchless long-distance reseller; TeleHub will be utilized as an underlying carrier. The agreement will generate approximately 180 million minutes of traffic the first year, increasing to one billion the second.

Lucent Technologies of Whippany, N.J., has awarded Berkeley Varitronics Systems of Metuchen, N.J., a contract to provide PCS Fox receivers and Panther 4-band receivers for RF propagation analysis.

Magellan Network Systems is a founding member of the 52-member International Softswitch Consortium formed earlier this year by Cisco Systems, Level 3 Communications, Enron Communications, Hewlett-Packard, and other telecom vendors to promote open standards and applications permitting the convergence of the traditional telephone network with the Internet. "Softswitch" architectures facilitate the interoperability of products supporting voice and multimedia communications over IP networks.

IQ2.net, an IntelliQuest company and provider of on-line registrations and efficient and accurate direct-marketing lists and services to companies desiring to reach technology-enabled, Web-using consumers, partnered with iMet Technologies, a company focused on packaging, marketing, and delivery of electronic-content via the Internet and CD-ROM. Pending its acquisition by Naviant Technology Solutions (customer-relationship management systems consulting and service providers), IQ2.net and partner iMet will expand the variety of services available to the on-line community.
