Latest cabling products: ethernet service platform

Communications News, Nov, 2001

RAPIDLY DEPLOY ETHERNET-BASED SERVICES in new markets with the Ethernet Services product platform. The platform is based on a combination of fiber-optic connectivity, IP-multiplexing and bandwidth management technologies residing at the SP central office PoP and the customer premises. The PowerChassis/113 for central office applications and PowerChassis/101 for customer premises provide the foundation for the platform, which also includes FiberLinX 10-Mbps and 100-Mbps modules for end-to-end fiber management; ipMux TX/5 for allocating bandwidth to multitenant office buildings by splitting one high-speed WAN connection between multiple customers; and the FiberChain Gigabit fiber multiplexer, that allows patching into existing single-mode gigabit fiber rings to provide new 100-Mbps access points wherever needed.--IMC Networks
