UpdateEXPERT is a software patch-management tool for networked workstations and servers that discovers missing and applicable patches and reliably deploys them. The system enforces software security policies and provides a way of managing hotfixes, patches and service packs. Using a combination of agent and non-agent technology, the solution allows companies to research available fixes, scan workstations and servers, deploy updates to any number of networked machines, and validate that the job was done right.

A new smart plug-in available with version 6.1 enables enterprises running HP OpenView Operations for Windows to easily manage UpdateEXPERT processes within a carefully controlled and monitored IT environment.
