GIGAlite-10 extends the 10-Gigabit Ethernet performance range for multimode optical fiber to a full 300 m for an 850-nm VCSEL light source. The fiber controls differential mode delay, providing compatibility with installed 50-[micro] and 125-[micro] multimode optical fibers. The laser-optimized, 50-[micro] optical-fiber technology provides legacy 10-Mbps through short-reach 10-Gbps performance for the premise and enterprise network. --Berk-Tek
