The butler does it

Webley Systems, Inc.'s unified messaging system, combining computer, Internet, and natural speech recognition telephony, was introduced late last year with a company icon in the form of an English butler named "Webley". Calls are answered by "Webley" who identifies himself as the personal assistant for subscribers who are assigned a personal 800 number and a secure personal Web site, making them accessible anywhere. Among its features "Webley" can put a caller on hold while locating the subscriber or take a message for the subscriber who may choose any form of message notification: pager, fax, e-mail, or voice mail. www.webley.com
