Fiber-optic A/B switch

REMOTELY ACCESSIBLE SWITCH offers built-in fiber-optic, twisted-pair conversion. The Model 4185 fiber-optic switch and converter allows access to two fiber-optic 100Base-FX ports from a single 100Base-TX Fast Ethernet port. The unit features two 1300 nm, SC duplex ports for multimode connectors. Internal circuitry ensures complete isolation between the two ports, allowing for the system to be used in fallback applications. A front panel button changes the switch connection, greatly minimizing the need to plug and unplug patch cords to make a change between two networks. An RS-232 port allows a terminal or modem to be connected for remote control over the switch, status determination and the lockout of the front panel switch. Access to this supervisory remote port is password protected.

The Caddy CPNA Pin Driven Angle Brackets come equipped with time-saving attachments to make the installation of drop wires for T-bars, ceilings, trapezes and electrical raceways easier. The leg of the bracket is extended to provide more room for installation tools, eliminating the awkward positioning often necessitated by big power tools. The hole in the extended leg is smaller and star-shaped, preventing the bracket from swiveling during installation. Rod hangers, strap hangers and J-hooks for wide-based cable support can come preriveted or be pre-assembled to the brackets to decrease time on the job site.

Broadband couplers

STATE-OF-THE-ART COUPLERS are available for LMDS, cellular, millimeter wave services and other applications. The Broadband Directional Couplers are available from .5 to 50 GHz, and are offered with a choice of 2.4 mm or K female connectors. Nominal coupling is 13 [ or -] 1 dB, with a frequency sensitivity of [ or -] 1.2 dB. The minimum directivity is 14 dB from 1 to 20 GHz or 10 dB from 20 to 40 GHz, with a low insertion loss of [is less than] 1.1 dB for the 1 to 20 GHz range and [is less than] 1.8 dB from 20 to 40GHz. Custom designs are available for most models.
