PROTECT COMMUNICATIONS between a serial device and a computer, data collector or other serial device located anywhere on the network. The VPN Gateway AC applies standards-based VPN technology to transport and protect serial data across the public Internet or private Ethernet network. The gateway directly connects the asynchronous serial device to the Ethernet network or any Internet access device, such as a router, xDSL, cable modem or standard dial-up. It complies with the latest IPSec and IKE core technology standards. Encryption, authentication and keying services operate on demand at the TCP/IP layer. It is IP-addressable and fully configurable using a Web browser.--Sequi
