Fiber converter - Optical devices and testing - IMC Networks T1/E1/J1 - Brief Article

Communications News,  Feb, 2003

The remotely managed T1/E1/J1 fiber converter and network extender is designed to convert the twisted-pair interfaces found on most telecommunications equipment and routers to fiber optics, and to extend the transmission distances of these circuits up to 80 km. Featuring remote SNMP management, support for multiple protocols and fiber types, and advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting tools, the new series is designed for both enterprise LAN and service-provider applications. Deployed in pairs, the converters are available with regular ST, SC and MT-RJ duplex-fiber connectors, as well as with new single-strand fiber technology that doubles the capacity of fiber-optic networks and enables full-duplex data communications over one strand of fiber.--IMC Networks
