Storage appliance

Communications News, Feb, 2004

The KBX4000 is an enterprise-class, disaster-recovery data-replication solution that connects to the SAN and IP infrastructure, providing bidirectional data replication across any distance for heterogeneous storage and server environments. The appliance monitors SAN and WAN activity continuously, using real-time information to dynamically adapt its replication mode on network conditions and application workload. Replication modes include synchronous, asynchronous, small aperture-snapshot and point-in-time. Once parameters are set, the replication process is managed automatically, and application-aware and storage-aware algorithmic techniques conserve bandwidth and maintain application performance.--Kashya
