Environment monitoring

Communications News, Feb, 2004

The EVR1500 monitors and detects environmental conditions that can adversely affect operation of servers and other network devices, and alerts system administrators of when those conditions occur. The unit integrates into an Avocent DS environment for remote access, monitoring and control of environmental conditions. The device comes with four preset internal sensors: temperature, humidity, airflow and audio; and has eight external configurable analog sensors. Its USB port is Logitech Camera Express-enabled, easing the addition of eyes to the unit for additional monitoring and security. It also provides 10/100 Ethernet LAN interface access, a serial Com configuration port, and two internal and six external digital input connections. --Avocent
