Communications industry facing "terminal change"

Ernst & Young sees tomorrow's communications industry as being totally different from today. Its new study of this global industry will conduct discussions with 50 leading CEOs of diverse service providers and equipment manufacturers.

Terminal change means new competitors, new types of companies, new service models, and new mergers and acquisitions. Service delivery will be less about selling products and more about providing specific solutions for particular businesses. Ernst & Young's Leadership Connection study is addressing these and other issues, which in turn will set the tone for industry debate at the ITU Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, in October 1999.
