Fiber epoxy - Latest cabling products - Brief Article

Communications News, March, 2002

DESIGNED FOR TERMINATING multimode and multifiber connectors, the AngstromBond AB930 is a low-stress adhesive that will not cause fiber core cracking or fiber pistoning. The two-part blue epoxy, which can also be used for single-mode and other specialty connectors, is a low-viscosity system that can be cured in 10 minutes at 100 [degrees] C. It produces a glass-transition temperature of more than 120 [degrees] C, and high bond strength to glass ceramic, metals and most plastics--allowing it to pass the most stringent specifications for both single- and multimode terminations. The product has a 90-minute working time, more than twice as long as the standard adhesive used for multimode terminations. --Fiber Optic Center
