Broadband access system - New Products - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Communications News, March, 2002

CONVERGE VOICE AND DATA in the access network and deploy volume DSL services. The CN1000 broadband access system integrates POTS DSL on every line and enables carriers to deploy mass-market DSL services from the central office, as well as remote terminals. By supporting both the legacy TDM and the emerging packet-based architecture, the unit allows a line-by-line migration to the converged, packet-based public network. The system is 100% DSL ready from the moment it is installed, without sacrificing POTS ports, and can packetize voice on a user-by-user basis. The system is subscriber transparent and can be turned up remotely via software. Fully environmentally hardened for deployments in remote terminals, the system enables up to 2, 112 integrated POTS DSL ports per 7' rack. The CN1000 is fully standards compliant and is fully interoperable with leading DSL customer premises equipment and ADSL chip sets.--Catena Networks
