Rugged wireless phones - Wireless products - Brief Article

Communications News, March, 2003

Eliminating the need for a separate two-way radio system and less expensive than cellular, the EP-436 cordless phone system can be used as a stand-alone PBX, or behind a wired PBX to offer wireless mobility. The system provides three times more power than 2.4 GHz phone systems, allowing up to 12 floors of in-building penetration, 250,000-square-foot coverage in manufacturing plants and warehouses, and up to 3,000-acre coverage outdoors. An auto-attendant directs callers to specific handsets, and the two-way radio function can work when out of range of the base unit. Text messaging to individuals or groups, and a battery hot-swapping feature are standard. Optional equipment includes an indoor/outdoor external antenna and a rugged case boot.--EnGenius Technologies
