Secure CF card - Wireless products - Socket Communications - Brief Article

Communications News, March, 2003

The low-power Wireless LAN CompactFlash Card now supports 802.1x, enabling authentication at both client and server levels for Pocket PCs and other mobile devices. Support for 802.1x security features lessens the vulnerabilities associated with IEEE 802.11 WLAN technology by enabling standard authentication security protocols (EAP/TLS, PEAP), centralized user identification, dynamic key management and accounting. The card uses less than 20 mA in standby mode, normally 90% of the usage time, to extend mobile-device battery run time.--Socket Communications
