Manage power remotely

REMOTELY MONITOR AND MANAGE SYSTEM POWER in enterprise rack environments. The RPC-27 and RPC-28 are remote power control solutions that offer receptacle-level rebooting, RMS current and temperature monitoring and reporting through an external SNMP controller, audible and visual overload alarms, and 20- to 30-amp power inputs. Network administrators can monitor how much current is being used and avoid circuit-breaker trips that would shut down a system. The DS-Series is a SNMP controller that, when used in combination with the RPC-27 and/or RPC-28, provides for the control of up to 640 receptacles through one connection. Outlets can be turned off individually when not being used, or to prevent additional equipment from being added to the circuit. The power strips are vertically mounted, requiring zero U of valuable rack space. The receptacles align with equipment in the rack to allow for easy power cord management.--Bay Technical Associates

Safe network testing

REMOTELY TEST AND DIAGNOSE PROBLEMS without sacrificing network security. NetProxy enables secure e-business and extranet testing. The system works with NetAlly to safely operate testing procedures through firewalls, while maintaining network and application security at all times. Manual and automated tests that can be performed include QoS and SLA verification, performance and protocol testing, and real-time troubleshooting and fault isolation. NetProxy operates at the network firewall, communicating with the NetAlly service through an encrypted and authenticated TCP connection.

This allows the NetAlly testing to extend beyond the corporate intranet and include a DMZ, extranet or Internet. Testing of remote locations is conducted through an encrypted 3DES SSL connection, allowing technicians to securely test sites regardless of geographic location.--Omegon

Fiber converter

ACHIEVE SECURITY AND NOISE IMMUNITY for industrial controllers, modems and terminals using multimode and single-mode fiber to distances up to 36 miles, and at speeds up to 230,400 baud. The FlexPoint 232 is an autosensing RS-232 to fiber-optic converter and distance extender. Intended to meet the needs of industrial networking and IT applications, the FlexPoint 232 supports both DTE and DCE applications, and features remote loop-back capability for ease of installation and operation. Configurable via a simple switch, the FlexPoint 232 connects to DTE or DCE equipment via a DB9 straight-through cable, eliminating the need for any crossover cabling. A diagnostics display and loop-back feature set provides setup and activity information to assist in the installation and operation of the connection. The FlexPoint 232 is available with ST, SC, MT-RJ and LC fiber connectors, and can be used as a standalone unit or rackmounted using a shelf or the FlexPoint Powered Chassis.--Omnitron Systems Technology

Improve network performance

FLEXIBLE NETWORK PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT PRODUCT provides solution for large enterprises. NetVoyant Enterprise Version 3 provides a scalable, distributable network performance management engine based on the CORBA architecture. Polling stations can be distributed across the enterprise, promoting better use of network bandwidth, as well as preventing polling bottlenecks. Polling stations send aggregated reporting data to the NetVoyant Enterprise Central Console for broad-scale reporting across the complete network. Users can drill down to individual polling stations from data stored in the central database if poll-rate data needs to be made available. A network performance Web portal provides management, SLA, QoS and detailed network performance reports through common Web browsers. NetVoyant supports a user-based security model, enabling customized views of reports and configuration parameters in accordance with a specific user's permissions. NetVoyant Enterprise currently operates on Windows NT 4.0, with support for Linux, HP-UX and SUN Solaris under development. --RedPoint Network Systems
