For deployment in mission-critical, high-performance networks, the Gigabit Ethernet-enabled version of the IDP 500 performs intrusion detection and prevention. The solution is capable of detecting computer-network and software application-layer attacks and prevents them from reaching databases that may contain personal or financial information, or network resources, such as e-mail and Web servers.
